Reading, Writing Vs Experiencing!

Have you been an avid reader and read about all the places in the world, thrillers and romantics!
So, yes! Reading opens up the world to you.. In your very own little room, cozy on your couch, in the garden or on your bed, a book can take you places!
And how often have you just gotten up and found yourself in one of those bookish type situations in real life! It’s weird isn’t it…you don’t have time to look at the color of the curtain of the big house or the way the grass has the dew drops on it, well, not most of the time!
In life I have seen there are two types of very strong people:
1.       The Readers (intellects)
2.       The Experiencer’s (they are Intellects as in they know more first hand)
The fact that reading is enriching but always second hand is what made me an Experiencer! I always wanted to be a part of the act – be it a thriller, romance or a traveler in search for bliss!
After travelling, romancing and thrilling all of my life (many more to come), I have realized that the first 3/4th of life is to Experience to the fullest! Be it Mt. Everest or Mt. Fuji or just the back waters behind your home!!!
Experience, experience and experience!!!
Leave your comfort zone…get out there..get your knees bruised…build those arms with all the heavy luggage…get overwhelmed by the travel  itinerary decisions! Drop your backpack in the middle of nowhere and share the most deepest and intense thoughts with a zephyr of a traveler friend… look into someone else’s life as a traveler!!!
Go beyond and then settle…write… share pictures… and most importantly push someone to Experience!!!

And of course -

Yoga for that Kick-ass body, mind and soul…

It’s now in vogue to talk about Yoga but, to be honest this might just be the only thing in fashion that is literally healthy!  So, what’s it all about –
No, it is not about the weird positions we see on tv! Those exercises are called Asanas. Yoga is a blend of three practices:
Asanas – those poses we see on tv, wherein people are working out!
Pranayama – it’s a breathing technique, very easy to follow and super awesome effects!
Meditation – Helps in inner peace and again it’s easy but, it depends on your will power.
I began with Meditation and realised the power it has! A few weeks back started up with Pranayama. Asanas are something I plan on moving into and will blog about it as and when I start! However, one can watch videos on Youtube or buy cd’s and listen to the instructions very carefully! Otherwise you risk injury to your back, neck etc…
Some of the benefits of Yoga:
1.   Focus on the Present: (My Fav!) Helps in better concentration, judgment and reflexes. This is one hell of a benefit! I swear by it! My attention span has drastically increased and my temperament is now so controlled!
2.   Anger Management: Yoga help you relieve stress and slow down, hence, it helps you drastically control that killer temperament! Thus making your family and friends happy and you – one chilled out soul! ^_^
3.   Lose weight: Damn right! It drastically increases your metabolism levels,O_o….what did that mean now? Well it simply means that it increases power in your belly which helps shed those fatty fats faster! Makes you very sleek and strong!
4.   Increased Strength: You will have energy all the time! Very positive mind and healthy body! You will impress your partners, if you know what I mean!
5.   Flexibility: Oh yeah! Even if you are 35 yrs old and over you will be able to increase your flexibility and strength! Trust me you will feel you are 25 from within! Isn’t it reason enough to start now!
6.   Pain Relief: Yoga is very beneficial for many bodily ailments like back ache and knee pain… however, it is crucial you learn from a certified or experienced trainer!
7.   Glowing Skin: Your skin will be radiant!  As Yoga helps improve blood circulation, detoxify your body and restore proper functioning of your body as well as endocrine glands.
So, people… let’s get that glowing, beautiful and sexy toned body NOW!
The best thing about yoga is you can do if from the comfort of your home. You don’t need too many gadgets. A simple Yoga Mat and some good training for beginners like you and me!

So what is this Meditation everyone’s been talking about?

When we hear words like spirituality, meditation, yoga the one thought that crosses our mind is: Do I really need this or Maybe this is for someone who probably is suffering from trauma, this is so boring!
My dear friends, the need for meditation is as much for an innocent soul who has never been exposed to any direct form of suffering as much as it is directly for you!
I live a full life with a wonderful partner, lovely job, excellent and well to do family and a adorable nephew! But I did it! I learnt to meditate for joy and to experience nature at a very holistic level.
Now, you are wondering what I really get by Meditating?
I am not a guru nor have I practiced meditation as deeply as one who speaks about it should. I have merely experience a few forms of meditation and I would like to share the beauty of it!
If not for you maybe someone who is stressed out or lost can be lead into this serene practice. Why? Let me try to explain:-
Today, due to a vast variety of modes of communication, one of them being this very blog, we do not realize how fast our mind is really working. We spend all that energy in communicating with the whole world around us, but eventually we all feel lonely somewhere or empty.
I have never believed in meditation but after I experienced it I realized one thing, that the one person I really need to communicate is Me! And I don’t mean it is a self loving narcissistic sort of love! A pure form of self-communication which could be as simple as being able to know when you need to say NO. And, most of all being able to organize the chaos of your life. For example: Investments, multitasking at work, socializing etc…
Meditation somewhere brings a calmness to your mind and suddenly every trivial or petty negative thoughts just pause for a while (it surely comes back), but you get a clear and conscience idea of where your thoughts are going. Most of all, you become aware of who or what is influencing you!
The worries will keep coming back, but you will have more control over how they affect you over a period of time. It takes a lot of time to reach a level wherein you will be able to control every thought, desire or even control that temper,  that has been a big bitch in your personal life!
If you feel incessantly bored or just low in spirits Meditation could possible help you self diagnose the reason and probably (with practice) you might be able to get rid of those triggers!
Meditation can be as simple as going to the beach and picking up shells (beautiful creation of nature) and observing them one by one on your own. Observing the geometry, colors and the delicacy and suddenly realizing that nothing or no one has created it! It was carved automatically by nature! This makes one realize how small they are compared to the vastness and the wonderful forces of nature around us! This feeling is when we look beyond ourselves and connect to the higher form – Nature and realize we are in fact just a mere creature on this planet. This slowly and gradually displaces us from the real world of sorrows and trivial pursuits… and somehow for that moment while you are lost in you meditation you are liberated!
Try different ways of meditation: listening to soft soulful music, painting, walking in the garden all these could be liberating and exhilarating!
Play with clay for all you know…anything just anything that engrosses you and makes you feel positive…Do it!

~ I say Meditate and Liberate your self!
